Projects

Fjord / Accenture Federal Studio

As a business designer in Accenture Federal’s Fjord design practice, I work at the nexus of human-centered design and management consulting to help our federal clients transform their internal and external services.

What I do:

  • Conduct user and desk research, analyze and synthesize results into reports that clarify opportunities for action
  • Apply systems thinking to get at root causes and unintended consequences
  • Identify innovation opportunities that meet client success indicators
  • Design and facilitate workshops—virtual, synchronous and asynchronous—to validate findings and brainstorm with stakeholders
  • Develop visions, guiding principles, process blueprints, and roadmaps
  • Shape digital product development with user and business requirements

The Miranda digital asset prototype and platform

September 2016-August 2019

I coordinated the prototype development, co-wrote the second-round funding application for, and managed the full-build development of Miranda, a new, user-centered home for the Folger’s digital collections. The project was generously funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

What I did:

  • Managed day-to-day delivery of internal cross-functional digital team and partnership with development vendors
  • Co-wrote successful $1 million grant application for full development
  • Evaluated desired features against feasibility and scope concerns as platform evolved
  • Advocated for project internally and externally, and collected stakeholder feedback
  • Oversaw budget, timeline, and grant deliverables

Digitizing the Stage conference

July 2017 and July 2019
I co-organized the 2017 international conference on digital explorations of the early modern theatre archive, which was sponsored by the Folger along with the Centre for Digital Scholarship, Bodleian Libraries, Oxford and Professor Tiffany Stern (Royal Holloway/Shakespeare Institute). In 2019, I returned to this role to partner again with the Bodleian as we brought DTS back to Oxford. We convened an international gathering of museum professionals, scholars, graduate students, librarians, archivists and others together for a dynamic, multidisciplinary and deeply collegial experience.

What I did:

  • Co-architected the program vision, agenda, and speakers
  • Served as primary point of contact for our partners at the Bodleian Libraries and for registrants
  • Developed brand identity; oversee budget, registrations and publicity
  • Ran logistics for both iterations of the conference

The Wellesley Effect campaign

Summer 2014-Summer 2015
I served on the Wellesley Communications & Public Affairs team developing strategic communications in support of the final quiet phase of a $500 million fundraising campaign, and preparing for the public launch.

What I did:

  • Developed content for and served as vendor point of contact for new iPad fundraising app
  • Wrote copy for campaign ads, leave-behinds and other print materials
  • Recruited alums and partnered with filmmaker vendor to help shape the campaign trailer; coordinated logistics of film shoot
  • Served on committee to plan Wellesley launch event

Other conferences and workshops

Advancing the Miranda Platform: A Workshop (September 21-22, 2018). In partnership with Dr. Meaghan J. Brown and the Folger Institute, I co- organized this weekend workshop convening a small group of scholars and practitioners to evaluate Miranda’s current and future possibilities.

The 2018 International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) Conference (May 21-25, 2018). I was a member of the program committee for this year’s IIIF conference in Washington, co-sponsored by the Smithsonian Institutions, the Library of Congress, and the Folger. I managed on-site logistics and contributed to shaping the event program as the Folger representative.

THATCamp Shakespeare (April 2017). I co-organized the one-day THATCamp event at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, in conjunction with UGA and UGA Libraries.
